Hello, so I accept an ASUS ROG GL753VE, I received it from a friend and he gave it to me without the original charger.
I bought a replacement for similar $20 on amazon (correct voltage and everything) and the charger worked fine for nearly two days; I was able to plug it in and play all of my games, do my homework, etc. On the tertiary day information technology randomly simply powered off while I was playing CSGO. I idea mayhap the laptop overheated but I turned information technology dorsum on and just idled on my domicile screen and it eventually close off again. I kept testing it out and every time the charger is plugged in it will power off no affair what I am doing. The laptop works fine on battery but as presently as information technology is plugged in for about x seconds it will shut off. Ive taken out the battery and tested it and the bombardment is not the outcome. Im thinking it might exist the replacement charger as information technology was only $20 and the actual manufacturer charger from ASUS is like $eighty. Ive read online that it is either one. The charger or 2. My motherboard. Is there anyway I can check make sure it is not my motherboard and then I dont waste matter my time and money ordering the manufacturer charger?

It's possible that the output voltage is not correct and the laptop shuts downwards to forbid the damage. Examination your laptop with another known good power adapter. If the trouble nonetheless exists, fifty-fifty later replacing the adapter, nearly likely information technology'due south the motherboard failure. Supersede the motherboard.

If you lot have the original charger....does it tell you what wattage it is? Having the incorrect wattage
could exist the problem...if the new one is dissimilar.

Cheap garbage Chinese chargers bought anywhere can melt, catch burn down, or self destruct fifty-fifty when the current ratings are listed appropriatly for the device it volition power
Chinese batteries are also improperly rated and have burned houses downwardly in the United States
The reason your charger was priced at $20 is because it is GARBAGE!

Thank you lot! The charger even stopped charging the laptop consistently (would just toggle from charging to not charging; charging light would blink instead of being solid) I am returning the charger merely since the OEM charger is about $80 on their website I decided to sell the laptop. Im hoping the new owner does non run into the same fault every bit me and tries returning it for being faulty. I too hope the charger did not impairment the laptop in whatsoever way. If all goes well Im going to put the money towards building a new pc. I wanted to try owning a laptop for one time only perhaps it wasnt meant to be.
